The Manifesto Of Value was my outcome for my major project in graphic design at university. I heavily researched American workwear from 1890 to 1930, engrossing myself in the design from that era.
The project's message was about understanding value, whether that is knowing your own value or valuing something. I aimed to combat feelings of undervalue, with undertones of authenticity and an appreciation for craft.
I laser-etched denim jacket and jeans, which had 16 graphics in total, 14 on the back and 2 on the front. These graphics were all inspired by visual attributes of workwear ephemera from the time and talked about value.
A custom handmade debossed leather brand patch, an embroidered badge and a pocket flasher were sewn also on to the jeans.
As part of the project, I also created a booklet (which can be seen here).
