The Dyson creative challenge is a University experience where the Dyson creative team gives graphic design courses the opportunity to work on a week long live brief. For the 2023 challenge, we were asked to design a brand identity for O-Wind, an omni-directional wind turbine capable of generating energy in an urban environment.
I worked with my friend and fellow designer Archie Everett to create our outcome, which focused on creating a calming, positive and innovative message to improve the public's reaction.
We were the winners of this challenge.
Brand Identity Guide:
As a part of this project, we had to look in to how O-Wind turbines can be sponsored, showing how other businesses' branding can be applied to the turbines. Our idea for a sponsor was Voi, an e-scooter company. The main theme around this sponsorship was using the turbines as pins, as if they are on a map: through this idea came the Voi Tours concept, where Voi could create virtual guided tours where users follow the red Voi turbines as way of navigation, to be taken through the city.
